The Kogis ancestral lands

NatureRights is working on an eventual collaborative action to help the Kogis tribe with the French Association Tchendukua, with Finn Mayhall, responsible for partnerships at the association.

Tchendukua is helping the Kogis indians to get back their lands in the Serra Nevada (Colombia), a beautiful project that has been initiated by Eric Julien whitch  has been saved from death by the tribe and is now devoted to the improvement of their living.

The Kogis Indians are descendants of the Taironas, who were decimated by Spanish invaders in the 15th century. The Kogi have been living in the mountains (Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta) of Columbia, South America for the last five centuries.

The Taironas had great respect for nature and tried to live in harmony with it and so are their descendants.

The mission is of tchendukua is to buy ancestral lands in order to allow the Kogis to recreate their villages and to preserve the valley. The association already acquired 14 properties with a total area of approximately 1,500 hectares. The goal withNatureRights would be to determine and buy new lands with the help of an innovative crowdfunding system open to the entire world.

Tchendukua could be one of the very first naturerights partners, and we are very proud, as such noble action needs to be supported.
